Our Program
At Galileo Preparatory Academy, our learners sequentially move through five mixed-aged studios, which are designed to provide them with the tools, knowledge, and character needed to thrive in adulthood and achieve their personal and professional goals. Although each studio caters towards the ages and developmental needs of its learners and offers gradually increasing amounts of flexibility and autonomy, all of our studios incorporate the following components:

Our flexible, learner-centered educational model integrates at-home and in-person learning.

Our Montessori and online curricula are self-paced to match each child’s learning needs.

All of our learning programs are fully mastery-based, with both grade and competency-based transcripts available.

Real-life skill building intersects with experiential learning during annual Art Shows, Science Expos, and Business Fairs.

Our studios are multi-age, which provides modeling, leadership opportunities, and accelerated social and psychological development.

Through our Lower School Monday Enrichment and Upper School daily mid-day clubs, learners explore subjects like art, STEM, history, and robotics.

Our academic curriculum is enriched by an emphasis on character development, leadership, and mindfulness.

Collaboration is essential to our program, whether during Lower School hands-on coursework or Upper School mentorship.

Frequent outdoor breaks are encouraged for the restorative health benefits and creative play they foster.
There are many differences between The Galileo Way and traditional models of education. We call our students learners to emphasize their active participation in their education. Additionally, we have guides and coaches, rather than teachers. Schools traditionally have classrooms, while we have studios. Traditional schools view success narrowly, while we include elements like character development and growth mindset into our curriculum. We promote academic and social development, rather than teaching to a test.
