Our Upper School Studio, available to learners in Grades 7-12, serves as final preparation for our learners’ launch into adulthood. The Upper School Studio positions all of our learners to excel in whatever path they choose to take following graduation, whether that involves pursuing higher education, attending a technical training program, entering the workforce, or following their passions in some other way. Various academic track offerings will be coupled with key Galileo elements like a continued emphasis on well-rounded growth and development, flexibility, and a self-paced, mastery-based learning model. Because of our fully self-paced curriculum and online learning platform, our Upper School learners are not required to be at the Learning Center a certain amount of time each week, but can decide what works best as a family.

Our Upper School Studio utilizes online learning platforms that offer a complete selection of core academic courses coupled with specialized career and technical education (CTE) courses. Our mastery-based core academic courses allow learners to curate an education plan that best suits their needs and interests while still meeting all state graduation requirements, with options like honors and Advanced Placement courses and instruction in five foreign languages.
-
Our CTE courses expose learners to the broad scope of available career opportunities in myriad industries including technology, business, healthcare, education, public safety, and human services. Once learners have evaluated their strengths and passions and identified an intersecting career field of interest, they will then take more specialized coursework that prepares them for career success through job-ready industry certifications and/or higher education readiness. By offering these CTE resources to our Upper School learners, we are helping them gain greater awareness about their future career potential while positioning them for success in an increasingly-competitive workforce.

Additionally, all high school learners in Grades 9-12 receive an academic plan that outlines a suggested high school course progression; this plan not only is designed to meet or exceed Tennessee high school graduation requirements, but is also customized to fit the unique needs and goals of each learner. Moreover, learners interested in pursuing higher education opportunities will be given guidance about SAT/ACT test preparation and provided with comprehensive information about the college application process—including but not limited to (1) college list development, (2) essay writing tips, (3) timeline support, (4) interview preparation, and (5) financial aid and scholarship process overviews.
It is our hope that by providing these resources to our learners, their full potential will be realized and their post-graduation plans encourage excitement and clarity rather than fear and uncertainty.

Though our Upper School is fully self-paced, we want our learners to build community. We offer several clubs throughout the week for our upper schoolers to participate in, including history club, Lego club, game club, and more. Each club is a set day and time each week, so your learner can plan their day in advance.
